Gerald graduated from Bussey Iowa High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at Iowa State University in 1955. After participating in ROTC, he married his college sweetheart, Marilyn Joyce Blome, from Illinois, and served in the Air Force.
After various career moves, he became an industrial sales manager and settled in Wichita, Kansas. He was a caring father, husband, and family member and was active within the community. He will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Hap "Harold" and Geraldine "Mary"; his sister, Carolyn; his wife, Marilyn; and his son, David.
He is survived by: his three daughters, Lynn, Susan, and Karen; his brother, Bernerd; his sister, Marilyn; along with 5 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 6 great grandchildren, and many caring extended family members.
