Born in Wichita, KS, Gordon grew up in Valley Center, KS graduating from Valley Center High in 1971. He continued his education by attending Wichita State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Gordon loved people and always hoped that his skills and talents would make the world a better place for all. He retired after 38 combined years of service at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. and Boeing Commercial Airplane Co.
Since August 4, 1979, Gordon and his wife, Helon, have shared 41 wonderful years together.
Gordon was preceded in death by his father Mickie and brother Donald. He is survived by his wife Helon; mother, Mary J. Spencer; sisters Linda Richter, and Cherri (Randall) Engel, brother Mark (Kim) Spencer; Sister-in law, Lillion, brothers-in-law, Herron and Ned; nephews Jack, William, Matthew, Gary, Demario, Orlando, Eric, Derrick; nieces Jennifer, Melinda, Heather, Traci, Mandi, Ernestine, Sheila, Pamela, Annette; and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Resthaven Mortuary. Gordon's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Evangel Assembly of God, 11444 W 21st St N, Wichita, Kansas at 10:30 a.m.
