Harold D. Culkin passed April 28, 2023 following a short illness while a resident of Homestead Health Center, Wichita, Kansas. Harold was born on November 11, 1927 in Wichita, Kansas. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he would have celebrated his 96th birthday this coming Veteran's Day! After being separated from the Navy following that war, he returned to Wichita, finished high school, worked for the
Coleman Company, attended Wichita Business College, and retired in 1990 after having been employed most all his adult life as a bookkeeper for the Universal Oil Company in Wichita.
He is survived by his wife, the former Rosemary Cross whom he married on 27 May 1955, his niece Sharon White (Ken) of Albuquerque, NM and nephews, Mark Culkin of Albuquerque, NM and Dennis Prothero (Linda Joyce) of Park City, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Cordie Culkin, his brothers Donald, Billy, Kenneth and his sister Betty Jo. A lifetime member of the Presbyterian
Church, he served as a Deacon and congregation bookkeeper.
A funeral service will be held at Resthaven Mortuary on May 5, 2023 at 10am with a burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory both at 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
