Harry passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born to Harry and Ann (Kurimski) Starnes on August 15, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan. Harry married the love of his life, Sung Won (Yu) Starnes on March 24, 1973, and together they had two children, Steven and Elizabeth Starnes.
Harry was a loving father and husband. He enjoyed traveling and with his love of driving, he always opted for the long-distance road trip. He valued his time in the military and was a proud Veteran, having retired from the United States Army at a Sgt 1st Class. He was always there with a quick smile or a smart quip. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Harry loved building car models, trains, driving, bowling, KU basketball, traveling and cars.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sung Starnes and children, Steven Starnes and Elizabeth Starnes.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10 am at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
