Hazel Benivamonde

Benivamonde, Hazel, age 69, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, at her home. Hazel was born May 10, 1946, the daughter of the late Domingo and Lucille (Whatley) Sandoval. Hazel's parents passed away when she was young, so she was raised by her grandmother, Delfina Whatley. Hazel worked for many years as a house keeper at Catholic Care Home Priest Retirement, where she took great pride in her job. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Benivamonde, Sr.; parents; brothers, Dennis and Juan Sandoval; grandson, Sean Reyes; and grandmother, Delfina. Survivors include: children, Barbara (Miguel) Reyes, Kristy (Antonio Rogers) Benivamonde, Brenda (Isidro) Guereque, Gilbert (Tyrene) Benivamonde, Jr., and Jessica Benivamonde; siblings, James Sandoval and Shirley Stucker; grandchildren, Alyssa, Joseph, Vanessa, Jose, Jr., Noel, Isaiah, Olivia, Anthony, Reyna, Emily, Jasmine, Ivy, Cheyenne, Imanie, Jesus, Grace, Chloe, Antonio, Dallas, Carlos, Mariah, Alexandra; great grandson, Santiago. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., both at Hillside Funeral Home, 935 N. Hillside, Wichita; funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2007 N. Arkansas, Wichita.
