

Lee, Helen “Faye”, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away January 10th 2017. She was born in Denver, Colorado on May 24th 1922. She was the daughter of Lyle and Mae Carson. They lived in Wichita for a time later moving to San Diego, California where Faye met and married Wilfred A. Lee. They operated landscape businesses in California and New Mexico. After retirement, they moved to Liberal, Kansas and later to Wichita to be near family. Will and Faye shared 65 years of happy marriage. Faye was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She always maintained a heart for God, supporting many missionary ministries. She had a spunky personality, loved her Christian faith, family and football. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother Eugene Carson, sister in law, Frances Kearns and a daughter, Lorane Lee. Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Thurow and husband Carl of Wichita. Granddaughters, Tonnie Martinez and husband, Dave, Tracy Flake and husband Alex. Great Grandchildren, Griffin Hamblin, Manhattan Kansas, Teagan Hamblin, Portland Oregon, Abby Hamblin, San Diego, California, Riley and Carly Flake Wichita. Also a sister in law, Sue Carson, two nephews and three nieces. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm on Thursday January 12th 2017 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. A private service for family will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home. Any donations can be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
