Hiep Thi Do

Hiep Thi Do, age 80, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 7, 1944, in Ben Tre, Vietnam, to Ngoc Nguyen and Cong Do.

In April 1962, at the age of 18, Hiep married Yen Nguyen, and together they built a life rooted in love, devotion, and family. She was a proud mother and grandmother to five children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild—each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.

At age 51, Hiep came to the United States, reunited with her husband after 6 years apart. She embraced her new life with resilience and grace, becoming the matriarch of her family. Known for her strong work ethic, Hiep worked at Wichita State University as a janitor and took great pride in her role. A devoted Buddhist, she found peace and purpose through chanting and prayer at Tinh Nghiem Quan Am Temple.

Hiep loved tending her garden and growing vegetables, and she delighted in visiting garage sales to discover unique treasures. Her life was marked by generosity—always giving, providing, and sharing with others. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, respect, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Hiep was preceded in death by her parents, Ngoc Nguyen and Cong Do, and her brother, Ung Do. She is survived by her beloved husband, Yen Nguyen; her children, Huan Nguyen, Lan Thanh Nguyen, Huy Nguyen, Phung Nguyen, and Uyen Nguyen; her grandchildren, Tram Ngo, Kaylon Le, Monica Le, Tyler Duong, Sofia Nguyen, Lindsey Nguyen, and Kimberly Tran; her great-grandchild, Van Schiminger; and many extended family members and dear friends.
