

Hoa Quy Le, 77, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023. Hoa was born the eldest son of Huu Le and Hong Nguyen on June 6, 1945 in Nam Dinh,Vietnam. He served as an officer for the Vietnamese Southern Army in the Phu Quoc Islands from 1970 to 1975. This is where he met his wife Vinh Thu Tran. Hoa and Vinh were united in marriage on November 4, 1988 in Saigon, Vietnam. They immigrated to the United States in 1990 where they made Wichita their new home and celebrated their lives together until Vinh tragically passed away in 1996. Hoa spent his life dedicated to raising his children. He was the type of father that his children could depend on. There was never a spider too big for him to kill. He always welcomed his children home with open arms and their favorite home cooked meal. In his free time he enjoyed traveling the world and shooting nature photography. While at home he could be found watching KU basketball, gardening vegetables and beautiful sunflowers, or in the company of his veteran group Hôi Thü Dúc. His presence is sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Hien Quy Le, and his wife. Survivors include his children, Duc Quy Le, Phuc Quy Le, Hanh Thu Le, siblings, Minh Quy Le, Chi Thi Yen Le, Ninh Quy Le, Thinh Quy Le, grandchildren, Kayla Quynh Nhu Tran, Karen Quynh Quyen Tran, daughter-in-law, Kim Tran and extended family. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on January 12 &13, 2023 at Hillside Funeral Home West. Prayer services will be January 12 at 11:00 and January 13 at 2:00pm. Funeral services will be at 9:00 am on Saturday January 14, 2023 all at Hillside Funeral Home, 2929 W. 13th St. N., Wichita, KS. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Wichita, KS.
