I was shocked to hear Jim died. I met Jim while I was a counselor at Royal Oak Kimball. We were right next to each other office wise in the counseling department. While I read comments from others, I know how much he cared for kids. He always wanted to do whatever he could to lighten their load. He really talked to kids to help them look at possible options and another way. This world needs more Jim’s! We will miss you Jim. I am so sorry you had to leave us. Keep singing those Irish tunes. Find my mom and grandparents - they will love all the Irish Songs!

I worked with Jim at Kimball High School for years. When I was planning a trip to Ireland/Scotland, he spent some quality time with me helping to plan our trip to his 'homeland.' I will be eternally thankful for that, as we had the most memorable vacation with our friends. 

Jim will be missed...

Mr. Anderson was someone near and dear to my heart. He helped me in such a way during some of the hardest times I’ve faced on this earth and he really gave me such a great outlet and resources that have helped me become the person I am today. 
He was genuine and such an inspiration to his students, he was one to go above and beyond.  His  teachings follow me to this day, I  think of him so often after graduating. School was truly never the same when he left. 
I would often wonder in times what he would say. I hope we was able to go in peace. And express how much this man was so loved and how we were all lucky to have been graced to have him in our lives no matter how long or short.

I had a really hard time in high school. Things were tough at school and even more difficult at home, and Mr. Anderson was one of the few people that understood without ever pushing me to talk about it. He always had my back and stood up for me, and that’s not something you easily forget. Because of him, I didn’t have to eat alone when I was struggling to make friends, I had resources to navigate trauma, and I always had a shoulder to lean on.

I’m so thankful to have known him. Decatur wasn’t the same without him when he left, and the world won’t be the same without him in it. Rest In Peace, Mr. Anderson.

Mr. Anderson worked and coached with my Dad at Royal Oak Kimball High School and he taught me driver's ed! He would drive me home after class because he lived close to where I grew up in Farmington. He offered to drive me home because he was a giving man. We had some good chats on the long drives. 

I now work at the same company as his nephew,  James. We did not know the similar connection until James and I first met. We had some fun "Uncle Jim" stories to chat about. Everything comes full circle!

Mr. Anderson was an amazing person. While I attended Decatur high school from 2008-2012 he would always give me advice and do his best to not only look out for me but all the students. RIP Mr. Anderson you will be rembered and you will be missed 

Mr. Anderson was an AMAZING man that helped me through many different things while I attended Decatur high-school back in 2009/2010. He used to give us the change out of his pockets so we could get food from the hot line all the time. He was always in a great mood and his energy always made out days better as well. He will be truly missed and forever remembered. 

I’ll never forget how this man helped me through high school. I wouldn’t have made it through those hard years without him. Others gave up but he was always in my corner and made sure I got through it. He was always kind and taught me a lot of lessons and perspectives I could’ve never thought of without him. I wish I could’ve showed him how far I’ve come recently. I’ll truly miss him. He was a good man, thank you for all you’ve done.

When I was in high school from 2006 to 2009 I met Jim Anderson nicest guy in the world I got my first guitar when I was 17 years old and he knew how much I love music so I brought my guitar to school one day and he taught me how to play the song The Greatest by Kenny Rogers Jim Anderson was in a band his younger years and he played the song the greatest he taught me that song on guitar I will never forget the time that he taught me rest in peace Jim Anderson

Jim took all my classes two days before we played in the Michigan High School Football regional finals , so I could watch more film on the opposing team we were playing. He was all about helping others in that way.

Big Jim, where do I begin! The sweetest soul ever! So many memories with you. Countless phone calls booking all your travel trying to understand the 3 of you guys with your accent. Pranks that almost did me in pretending your golf clubs never arrived in Kansas! A heart of gold and the voice of an angel. So happy I have all your music on cd to listen to and cherish. Will forever think of you when I hear Circle by Harry Chapin. I know you will be golfing and singing the days away until we meet again. Jimmy, Glad we managed to spend many happy times performing together. I’m sorry you were so far away when you left us. You will always be remembered as a coach, a ballad singer and a good guy.

I will forever remember seeing Jim sing on stage.  He had a beautiful voice.  Also he gave me the best advice ever.  Take 
L-LYSINE  Tablets for cold sores. Thank you Jim that advice saved me a number of times. You will be loved and miss by many.  ❤
