James "Jim" E. Snyder

Snyder, James E. "Jim", 71, of Newton, Kansas passed away on Sunday July 22, 2018 in Wichita. Jim was born the son of James E. and Leatha M. Snyder on May 29, 1947 in El Dorado, Kansas. Jim and Connie Snyder were united in marriage on March 23, 2003 in Wichita. Jim retired after over 20 years at JCI Industries in Wichita. At age 18, he and his brothers started their own custom cutting business and worked from the Dakotas to Texas, which was Jim's true love. He was happiest working outdoors and continued working in the fields and driving trucks even to the day before his stroke. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant sisters. Survivors include his loving wife, Connie Snyder, children, Jennifer (Jarrod) Strausz, April (Stacey) Neufeldt, James Lackey, Taryn (Ric) Freund, Brandi Fevurly, brothers, Glenn (Jolene) Snyder, Roy (Debbie) Snyder, Ron (Jean) Snyder, 12 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Celebration of life services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday July 29, 2018 at Meridian Center, 1420 E. Broadway Court, Newton, KS 67114. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Jim.
