Janell Ruth Hoagland, age 72, of Goddard, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025. Janell was born August 23, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas to Floreine Edith Langenegger Stangle and Ernest Joseph Stangle.
Janell married Farrell Hoagland on June 11, 1978. She worked at Wesley Medical Center in the telecommunications department for 34 years, which lead to her love of collecting all different types of telephones. She then worked at Oak Street Elementary of Goddard, KS as a paraprofessional. After retirement she spent time working at KWIK shop where she met and enjoyed talking with people. Janell collected angels, loved planting flowers, and bred and raised Chihuahuas, which she adored. She enjoyed singing in the choir for over 20 years at Central Christian Church and at Central Community Church. She really loved being around her family, especially the children.
Janell is survived by her step-son Don Hoagland; son Joshua Hoagland; sister Peggy George; grandchildren Dominick Hoagland, Katie Thompson, and Mason Moler (Olivia); nephews and nieces Russell George (Lori), Janene Jones (Jeff), Sylvia Stangle, Sherree Stangle, and Shannon Long (Shawn); and many great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
Janell was preceded in death by her husband Farrell Hoagland; step daughter Lana Moler; father Ernest Joseph Stangle; mother Floreine Edith Langenegger Stangle; and brothers Stephen Stangle and Joseph Stangle Sr.; and nephew Joseph Stangle Jr.
A Celebration of Life for Janell will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Central Community Church, 6100 W Maple St, Wichita, KS 67209.
