Jerry passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the age of 93 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born to Loyd V and Elisabeth Lee Clapp on March 29, 1933, in Shreveport, Louisianna. He had four siblings, Loyd Clapp Jr., Percy Clapp, Fred Clapp and Diana Clapp Luther.
Jerry married Jill A. (McComb) Clapp and together they had two children, Robert W. Clapp and Elisabeth I. (Clapp) Heibel.
Jerry was part of the Kansas National Guard Reserve. He retired from Boeing as a mechanic, and he was also a Shriner and a 32 degree Mason. He enjoyed building model plans and ships, playing golf, bowling and working in his garden.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jill Clapp; brothers, Percy Clapp, Fred Clapp; sister, Diana Clapp Luther; son, Robert Clapp; daughter, Elisabeth Clapp Heibel; two granddaughters and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Loyd V. Clapp Jr.
