I met the Lanterman family at Glenville Bible Baptist way back in 1978. There was this immediate friendship and they included me in their family. I have fond memories of holding Jay when he was just like 2 years old, and riding in the dune buggy, the trampoline, and going to Mom and Pop Lanterman's and hearing them say, come on in. Their favorite drink was Dr pepper and they had plenty on hand. Margie gave me a bridal shower back in 1982. I remember Joe's accident and singing a special at the funeral. It was so very sad and emotional. The funniest thing which wasn't at the time, was a visit to Jerry, Norene & Jay in Arkansas. After riding 4 wheelers the guys were going to go bird hunting. Norene & I were in the kitchen when Jerry ran into the house and said, "your son has been shot". You never seen two mother's run outside so fast. Found out Jay accidently shot his toe while sitting on the 4 wheeler. At the ER he told them he was a safety instructor. We love you Jay. Your family was the best. Prayers for you in the days ahead.
