Tate, Jerry L. "Bub", 71, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Friday May 31, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. Jerry was born the son of Lawrence and Maxine Tate on February 19, 1948 in McClurg, Missouri. Jerry and Jackye Tate were united in marriage on July 11, 1987 in Wichita, Kansas.

Jerry served in the United States Army in 1967, in the First Air Calvary during the Vietnam War. He retired after 43 years from Beech Aircraft as an Avionics and Electrical Manager.

A devoted family man, Jerry loved the parties he and his wife gave, swimming and entertaining by their pool. His pride and joy was daughter Dana, he was her basketball and soccer coach growing up. He watched with pride as she graduated culinary school and went on to open her own successful sandwich shop, Bocco Deli. One of his favorite moments was walking her down the aisle and giving her away to Quincy. Jerry was her biggest fan.

His greatest love was the Fall River cabin, bow hunting and 3D archery, with his brother Larry and lifetime buddy Jack Circle who passed one year ago on the same date. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife; Jackye Tate, daughter; Dana (Quincy) Best, brother; Larry (Carol) Tate, grandchildren; Tyler and Kiana Best and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Select Specialty Hospital and Harry Hynes Hospice for their care, compassion and kindness during the last few months.
