

Jim Floyd 83, of Tucson Az., Former minister of Hilltop Christian Church; joined the saints in heaven May, 9th 2012. Jim was born on August 25, 1928 at Midian, Kansas. He grew up in Rock, Kansas, graduating from Douglas high school in 1946 & joined the Army soon afterward. He is a World War II veteran spending over four years in Germany prior to being honorably discharged in 1952. He retired from Cessna Aircraft with 45 years of service. His real passion was always the ministry of Jesus Christ & was an excellent Christian role model. Jim spent over 17 years as the minister of the Hilltop Christian Church. He was a loving husband, father & grandfather whom his family cherished & will always miss.
Preceded in death by his parents Ted and Olive Floyd, Sister Barbara Parsons-Smith. Survivors: Wife of 33 years; Vera Floyd of Tucson, Az. Daughters: Teresa Roberts (Mike) of Andover Ks, Karla Floyd of Wichita Ks, Benita Guinn (Aaron) of Haysville Ks, Diana Taboda (Salvador) Wichita Ks. & Ted Floyd (adopted) Burden, Ks. Step-Children : Karen Buser (John) Arlington Ks, Roger Harris of Phoenix AZ, Steve Harris (Yolanda) Las Vegas NV, Janet Mawhirter (Jerry) Tucson Az.. 28 Grandchildren: Amy, Christopher, Jay, Jonathan, Brian, Kristina, Carmen, Kathy, Megan, Misty, Melissa, Treasure, Travis, Ted, Jamie, Melanie, Michael, Maria, Manuel, Patricia, Ryan, Felicia, Patrick, Bradley, Stacie, Mathew, Kristen, & Shannon. 52 great-grandchildren, Sister: Dixie Hatfield (Elvin), three nieces and numerous cousins.
Viewing 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 16th 2012 with family present 6-8 p.m at Hillside Funeral Home East, Wichita, KS. Services 10:00 Thursday May 17th 2012 at Haysville Christian Church, 1306 W Grand in Haysville. Memorials to Samaritans Purse.
