Jim C. Newell

Jim C. Newell passed away at his home on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Jim served his country as a proud Vietnam Veteran in the Marines, receiving the Natl. Def. Serv. Medal, Vietnam Serv. Medal w/ 1 Star and Rifle Marksman Badge. After his service he worked for KG&E and Phillips Southern Electric. But most importantly was his faith and love of Jesus Christ. Jim was predeceased by his parents, J.C. and Dorothy Newell. He is survived by his loving wife, Velma L. Newell; children, Michele Summers (Mike), James Newell and Jay Newell; step-children William Wilson (Allison) and Mari Turner (David); siblings, Connie Lowman (John), Kevin Newell (Tracy) and Bill Newell; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and friends. All are welcome to attend graveside services being held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Love on Wed. August 29 at 10:00 a.m.. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Semper Fi Fund or Eternal Perspective Ministries.
