Hart, Jr., John Joseph, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011. He was born February 18, 1921 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to John Joseph and Eliza Jane (Campbell) Hart, Sr. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou and his daughter, Patricia Jane. He is survived by his grandson, Andrew Hart, of Wichita, his sister, Jane Hart Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, his nephews, John Edward Smith (Sheryl) Smith of Wichita, Paul Allen (Maureen) Smith of Norman, Oklahoma, and his companion, Joyce Barker of Wichita. Mr. Hart served in the United States Army Air Corps in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. Throughout his life, he was an avid pilot who retired as general manager from Van Dusen Aircraft. After retirement, Mr. Hart worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the Red Cross transporting blood to all parts of the state and accumulated nearly 400,000 miles. Services will be held at Resthaven Chapel on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to Make A Wish Foundation.
