My deepest sympathies and prayers to all of John's family. John was a true blessing to have as a neighbor and I will truly miss seeing his smiling face and waving to each other from across the street. Rest in Peace John.

To a Brother In Law whom I truly loved and respected for both his love of family and country. I was always amazed and entertained by his unbelievable memory of details from events in his youth, in the military or on the railroad. I will miss the lines that started with, "You know, Jerry, ....." or " The thing of it is......" , both sentences would start a story of an experience from years past. I can almost hear him now, "You know, Jesus,  when I was on Earth.........."

I would like to express my sympathy to the relatives of John Montenegro. I knew him in my childhood as he and Jessie were our next door neighbors in Wellington. He also took part in the National Latino War project and was interviewed about his military service memories just this summer.  My dad, Paul Ybarra,was there that day and they were so happy to see each other again.

The world will miss such a wonderful person but Heaven has gained a great soul.  My love to all our family who will mourn his loss.  Your faith will carry you through and your love will give you strength.  He now "walks with God" and let that knowledge give you comfort. May he rest in peace.

It impresses me on how our family and friends have come together to support each other in this emotional time for our beloved Uncle John. My two boys have not had to honor to know him as I did. However when I had to share the news of his passing, They both broke down. This is the kind of positive impact Uncle John had on the people who were blessed to know him.
