John Dennis Sissell

John D. Sissell 69, passed away October 28, 2016. John was born November 3, 1946 in Neodesha, Kansas to Clyde and Margaret (Anstine) Sissell. He graduated from Wichita West High School, was a manager for Pizza Hut, served in the Kansas Army National Guard, and was employed as a Civil Service Technician at the armory. He transferred to the 891st Engineer Battalion and was an administrative tech at the armory in Salina Kansas. Mr. Sissell later was associated with the U.S. Army Reserve, 425th Transportation Company. and retired after 30 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was a supervisor for the Army Reserve Maintenance Shop at Camp Funston, Ft. Riley Kansas and later was a logistics readiness officer at Post Headquarters, Ft. Riley Kansas. Mr. Sissell was a leader with Boy Scout Troop 20, Salina Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents. John is survived by sons, Brian (Jamie) and Eric (Jennifer) both of Wichita; two brothers Jim of Las Vegas, Nevada and Robert (Librada) of Lubbock, Texas; and grandchildren, Brett, Conrad, Brock, Carter, Braydon, Camden, Briant, and Claudia. Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
