Johnny left school after finishing the 8th grade to pursue a career at Cessna. He worked for the company for 30 years. On April 1, 1978, he married the love of his life, Kathryn Kay Wilson. They had four children, Arthur (A.J.) Kirk, Tommy Kirk, Roy Nalley and James Nalley.
Johnny enjoyed racetracks, trains, amphibious vehicles and he loved old muscle cars. He also loved bowling with his wife and friends. He often donated to the St. Jude’s Hospital.
The family shares some stories: Johnny got mad about fireworks blowing up in the back of his truck. While he was working for Cessna at the same time they lived in Miland, he came home to find a large snake on his screen door that he put his hand on, he screamed and quickly went to get his shotgun. And when A.J. went to Johnny and Kay’s to put lights on the house he remembers seeing a big bright smile on his dad’s face.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Kirk; sons, Arthur Kirk, Tommy Kirk, Roy Nalley and James Nalley; daughter in laws, Chantel Kirk, Samantha Nalley; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and two dogs, Baby Girl and Junior.
