Joyce “Jeannine” Swisher, 85, passed away on Tues. Jan. 6, 2015. She enjoyed dancing, volunteering with Golden Age Group at Linwood Park, and held several positions on the Board of Directors at her church The Dock (formerly Fairview Christian Church). Jeannine taught third grade at Vermillion Elementary School in Maize and also taught special needs children at Cooper Elementary School in Derby. She will be dearly missed by her many friends and family. She was born May 22, 1929 in Arkansas City, was preceded by her husband, Henry; daughter Donna Johnson; and son James Swisher. Jeannine is survived by a sister, Frances Miller of Apple Valley, CA; son Dwayne Swisher and daughters LeaAnn Cloud of Wichita, Valorie Russell of Valley Center; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren.
