Juanita Joan (Norman) Dains

Juanita "Joann" (Norman) Dains, age 91, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Largo Medical Center, Largo, FL. after a brief illness. Juanita was born February 19. 1931 in Piedmont, Kansas to Goldie Smith-Norman and Melvin Norman. Joann was a Clearwater resident since 2008, when she relocated from Springfield, MO. where she was an active member and secretary of the United Methodist Church. On June 12, 1949, after graduating from Wichita North High School, she married Kenneth I. Dains who left us too soon in 1990 also after a brief illness. On April 25, 1952 their only daughter, Angela K. was born. Jo and Kenny loved fishing, camping, bowling, card games, their horses and traveling to the Ozarks with their RV group. She took art lessons in the late sixties and began teaching painting in her home at Wagon Wheel Ranch east of Andover, KS. After Kenny passed in 1990 Jo moved to Washburn, MO. near their beloved Roaring River State Park and Table Rock Lake. Joann will be reunited with Kenny in the mausoleum at Lakeview near Andover. A private memorial service will be held on wednesday, January 25. She is survived by daughter Angela Sanford (Alan), granddaughters Carla Sandwell of Wichita and Alyson Kari of Bettendorf, IA. and 4 great grandchildren. Sister Rose Hartley of Wichita and brother Larry Norman of Salt Lake City, UT. and several nieces and nephews.
