Age 75, a resident of Irving for 7 years, died Thursday March 5, 2015 in Irving. Born October 19, 1939, in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Forest Wayne Eckhardt and late Elsie Mildred Lambeth. She was the owner of a clothing store named Studio in Larned, Kansas. She worked at Derby ISD in Derby, KS, and retired in 2005. She was a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. She was also a member of the Garden & Arts Club; Wednesday and Thursday Bridge Clubs; Friday Card Club, Singles Sunday School; and the Joy Group. Preceded in death by her first husband Berton Kersting, Sr., second husband Donald Armstrong, third husband, Carl Burcham; daughters Denise and Teresa Kersting; granddaughter, Megan Kersting; and her parents. She is survived by daughters, Michelle West and husband Stuart of Virginia, Diane Barber of Irving, Valerie McCay of Oklahoma; sons, Berton Kersting, Jr., and wife Kathryn of Missouri, Michael Kersting and wife Leaha of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and brother, Robert “Bob” Wayne Eckhardt of Kansas. Mom, because of the trials that you endured in life, you’ve inspired us all to keep our faith and live life to the fullest regardless of our circumstances. Thank you for being a wonderful mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Thank you for always being there to love and encourage us and for the values of kindness, compassion, sense of humor, patience and above all, the love for God and family that you and dad instilled in us. We’re blessed and honored to have you as our mother. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Plymouth Park Baptist Church, 1714 North Story Road, Irving, Texas 75061.
