Judy Kaye Wilhite, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on January 29, 1953, in Newton, Kansas.
Judy was known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her spirit and genuine compassion. Her dedication to her family and friends was evident in everything she did.
Judy met the love of her life and married him June 3rd, 1972, after only 8 short months of dating him. Judy graduated from Wichita State University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She served the community as a registered nurse at Via Christi St. Francis on Floor 7, Southeast for the entire 27 years of her career. Judy spent countless hours quilting, embroidering, crocheting, and sewing in her free time where she crafted countless items for loved ones. She also loved baking and spent many hours exploring the internet for various cookie recipes to make for her friends and family. Judy also loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Betty McClure; sister, Shirley (McClure) Staab; brother-in-law, Kenny Staab; and grandson, Charles Burnett.
Judy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 51 years, Mike Wilhite; daughters, Amanda (Charles) Burnett and Vanessa (Aaron) D’Angelo; grandchildren, Arius (Courtney) Burnett, Ariel Burnett, Ayden D’Angelo, Adyson D’Angelo, and Axyl D’Angelo; great grandchildren, Montae Irving and Karlene Burnett; siblings, James (Theresa) McClure and Angie Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support, prayers, and condolences during this difficult time.
A Funeral Service for Judy will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 10th, with visitation one hour prior, at Lakeview Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery in the Garden of Apostles, 12100 E. 13th Street N., Wichita, Kansas 67206
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MS Society in honor of Judy's memory.
Judy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
