Karen Sue Clare was born on August 6, 1953, in Springfield, Missouri to Dale E Clare and Nancy L (Garner) Clare. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; sister, Rita Hamilton; Aunt Shirley (Clare) Green; Uncle Harry Clare, and a host of other beloved family members who were influential in nurturing her throughout her life.
Karen was raised by her father and loving stepmother, Earlene Clare. She graduated North High School, in Wichita, KS and studied at Dodge City Community College. Karen worked as a Maintenance Director for the Dodge City Housing Authority until she retired.
Karen was a loving free spirit who gave all she had generously and was extremely protective over her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. There is nothing Karen wouldn’t have done for those she loved.
Because of Karen’s deep love for the Lord, we know where she has gone and that we will see her again. Apostle Paul said in scripture “to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.” In the early morning of Friday, January 14, 2022, Karen left her physical body and went home to be with the Lord she so loved.
Karen is survived by her children (in birth order), Julie Ann (Hunter) Sproul, Karie Lynn McKinsey, Phillip Dale McKinsey, Johnathan Eugene McKinsey, and Jeremy Lee McKinsey; siblings (in birth order) Kimberly Clare, Buddy Clare, and Danny Clare; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
