Kelly Michael Brown Sr., a man of immense talent, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 67, surrounded by his family. Born on January 31, 1958, in Wichita, to the late Barbara (Edmundson) and Kenneth Brown, Kelly was a proud brother to Roger, Randy, Chris, and Kerry.
From a young age, Kelly learned to enjoy the outdoors, filling his life with fishing and hunting. This love for nature inspired him to create beautiful stained glass and pottery featuring scenes from the outdoors and beyond.
On October 11, 1980, at Christ the King Church in Wichita, Kelly married Nancy Satterfield, gaining a new perspective on his designs. As they welcomed their children, Kelly Jr., Ashley, and Lindsay, his appreciation for the beauty of life became evident in all his creations—a treasure of passions passed on.
Kelly wore many hats during his time on Earth: son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather and friend. His influence went far beyond these titles, as he touched the lives of everyone around him.
Reflecting on his life, we are filled with laughter and joy from our fond memories. His presence remains woven into our worlds through the traditions and memories we carry forward.
Kelly's faith in God provided comfort and peace. As we mourn his passing, we find solace in the belief that he is now in the loving arms of our Lord, surrounded by eternal freedom in heaven. On Earth, we face daily tests but must continue to have faith, knowing that God intervenes and promises us a reunion with Him in heaven.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Nancy; brothers, Randy Brown and Kerry (Janice) Brown; children, Kelly (Judy) Brown Jr., Ashley (Hunter Alexander Sr.) Brown, and Lindsay Bentley; grandchildren, Gabe, Shane, Logan, and Danielle Brown, Hunter Jr. and Aubrey Alexander, and Maddie and Mason Bentley; and in-laws, Bill (Trish) Satterfield and Mike (Jan) Satterfield. Rejoicing in the eternal freedom of heaven, Kelly reunites with his parents, Barbara (Edmundson) and Kenneth Brown, and his brothers, Roger Brown and Chris Brown.
A celebration of life for Kelly will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
