L. LaVerne Stone

Born in Hickory Grove, Oklahoma in 1927 to James and Vida Austin. One of 6 children, she is the last of her siblings to enter heaven. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Griffith of Wichita, Ks. and many Mary Kay sister Consultants, nephews and nieces. Her husband of 60 years, George Stone, died Dec. of 2008.

LaVerne loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was famous for her cookies, pies and cakes. LaVerne “went about doing good”, cleaning the church, babysitting, cooking dinner for others in need. If you had a project to do, she would offer to do it for you. What gave her life meaning, was serving others. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.

Her Memorial Service will be Sat. March 5 at 1 p.m. at Colonial Heights Assembly of God, 5200 So. Broadway. Her ashes will be buried in Grove Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to Amedisys Hospice and Colonial Heights Assembly of God Building Fund.
