Larry William Carroll, 86, died on February 24, 2021. Larry passed away peacefully with family at his side while in hospice care in Columbia, MO. He was born to Theador W. and Irene P. Carroll on June 17,1934 in Mooreland, OK. Larry attended Dodge City High School where he met the love of his life, Edna C. McDermed. Following their graduations, Larry and Edna were married on July 27, 1952, moving to Wichita later that year. Three sons were born and raised in Wichita. Larry worked at Boeing for a short while then worked as a paint contractor. He was a lifelong union journeyman and worked for Jerry Harding Paint Contracting for several decades as foremen. Before retiring, Larry work for Koch Industries. Larry was involved in scouting in 1960’s as an assistant scoutmaster. He was known for kindness and sense of humor to all of those who met and got to know Larry. With, Larry you were only a stranger once. He enjoyed being with family and friends, helping others, wood working and traveling. Larry and Edna were able to travel many places throughout the United States and were able a to visit Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna; sister, Maxine (Leo) Sams; brothers, Phillip (Betty), Robert and John “Buster” (Mary) Carroll; father and mother-in-law, Floyd (Velma) Lemon; brother-in-laws, Leroy Lovin and Donald; and sister-in-law, Janet Lemon. Survivors include: sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Carroll, Marion Lemon, Elda Lovin and Cleta (Gary) Smith; brother-in-law, Richard Lemon; sons, Michael, Alan (Teresa) and Timothy (Junqian); seven grandchildren; and several grand cats and dogs. Visitation will be from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, Friday, March 12, with Funeral service 11:00AM, Saturday, March 13, both at Resthaven Mortuary. Burial will follow in Resthaven's Garden of Freedom.
