

Larry was a retired veteran of the Vietnam war. For his service, he earned the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device; and the Vietnam Service Medal. He served honorably in the US Air Force; 20 years of active duty service, followed by 10 years Air Force Reserves. Larry worked at Morton Thiokol in Plymouth, Utah where he used ultrasonic testing to inspect the space shuttle boosters for NASA. He then went on to work at Boeing and later Spirit Aerosystems in the NDI inspection department. Larry loved spending time with his family, fishing, and working in the garden.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Letha Keopke; brother Harry Donald Keopke; and sister Betty Lou Keopke.
He is survived by his loving wife, Myong Keopke; daughters Lisa Schlereth and Sheila Wolfe; son-in-laws James Schlereth and Stephen Wolfe; grandchildren; Kimberly Guerra, Kemper Schlereth, Henry Vann, Mason Schlereth, Archer Schlereth, and Ben Wolfe; great grand-daughter Lillian Guerra.
A funeral service for Larry will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, 1208 N College, Winfield, KS 67156.
