Lawrence Adrian Fanning

March 12, 1933July 1, 2013

Fanning Lawrence Adrian, 80, left this world July 1, 2013 to be with his loving wife, Orvetta, to whom he was married for 52 years. Lawrence was born on March 12, 1933 in Quenemo, KS. He was the oldest of four boys born to Cecil Warren Fanning and Louise Ida Gray. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Orvetta Faye Barnes (2007); his Father (1983); Mother (2003); and his youngest brother, Richard Lee Fanning (2004). Lawrence is survived by his brothers: Darrell Dean, Sr. (Marveita) Fanning of Wichita, KS and Cecil Lynn (Judith) Fanning of Newton, KS. Lawrence was a proud American who loved and served his country in the Korean War. He retired from Accessories, Inc. in 2007 after 45 years. He also loved his part-time job delivering for Pizza Hut. His last 4 years were spent residing at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation where he was loved and cared for by their wonderful “Second-To-None” staff. His contributions were being the “BEST BROTHER IN THE WORLD” to Darrell Dean, Cecil Lynn and Richard Lee. Lawrence was a mechanic who loved repairing and rebuilding cars. If you had car trouble, he was always there to help you. Lawrence and Orvetta did not have any children of their own, but they were foster parents and were “adoptive” parents to numerous nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed, but knowing he is going to be with his “True Love” for eternity will bring him peace and happiness. Each and every one of us LOVE you Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Halstead Health and Rehabilitation, 915 McNair, Halstead, KS 67056. Viewing will be 3 to 8 pm with family receiving friends 6 to 7 pm on Friday, July 5 and funeral services will be held at Resthaven Mortuary on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 1:00 PM.

It was a priviledge to know Lawrence. He worked for Accessories,Inc. for 45 years and he was a great, giving, caring person. He loved his wife and family and will be reunited with his wife for eternity. We memorialized Lawrence at our business by naming our shop cat "Lorenzo.
