of Wichita, Kansas, aged 91, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Lawrence, also known as Larry, was born in December of 1928 to Lawrence A. and Alice Alma Lallement. He was the third of five children. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and East High School. He ran track at Wichita State University and was president of his fraternity, Alpha Gamma Gamma (Beta Theta Pi ). After graduating with a business degree, Lawrence joined the army and worked in intelligence in Maryland. In June of 1953, Lawrence married Marilyn Ruth Schmidt. They had two daughters and two sons. Lawrence had a successful career as a data processor working for the city of Wichita and other businesses. Lawrence developed a computer system that helped the Fourth National Bank be the first bank in town to pay their employees in an automated way. Lawrence had a very sharp mind and always had interesting details to share about many topics. He was a faithful husband, good father, and wonderful grandfather. Lawrence enjoyed helping others and researching genealogy. He also attended St. Jude Parish of Wichita.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, his four siblings and three spouses, Anita (James) Pollock, Martha (John) Lewis, Maurice Lallement, Melvin (Grace) Lallement, his son-in-law Jim Tomayko, and his great- grandchild Zion Stepney (Lallement). He is survived by his sisters-in-law Mary Merritt Lallement Platner Lindsay, Rita (Barry) Kratzer, his brother-in-law Ed (Patty) Schmidt, his four children, Linda (Edwin) Rehme, Larry (Debbie) Lallement, Michael (Michelle) Lallement, Laura Tomayko, his 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by several cousins and many nephews and nieces.
Services for Lawrence will be on Saturday, December 12 at 10:00 at St Joseph Catholic Church at 318 Rush Avenue in Andale, Kansas. A rosary will begin at 9:30 before the funeral. The burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery at 1000 N. Hillside in Wichita, Kansas.
