

Lawrence E. Scheffe, 84, passed away Feb. 10, 2016. He retired from Boeing after 36 years of employment. In 1968 the Boeing crew he was on built the first Saturn Rocket Booster that went to the moon. Lawrence moved to 5 states during his lifetime. He was a voracious reader, loved to hunt and fish, watch western movies and read western books, a rattlesnake hunting enthusiast, member of the Country Acres Baptist Church since 2002, and he dearly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Jennie Scheffe and brothers, Arthur and Durwood Scheffe. Lawrence is survived by wife of 56 years, Julia; son, Steve Scheffe; daughter, Sharla Stephan; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Stephannie, Allexis, Steven, Madison, and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Julie, Emmie, Greyson, Marissa, Gracie, Cohen, Aubrey, and Cian; and sisters, Violet Nichols, Carolyn (Bob) Anderson; and sister-in-law, Iliene Scheffe.Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sun. Feb. 14th at Resthaven Mortuary and funeral service will be 10 a.m. Mon. Feb 15th, 2016 at Contry Acres Baptist Church.
