Goddard - Leon R. Steckley, 95, passed away April 3, 2016. Leon was born to Austin and Mabel Steckley on July 5, 1920 in Newport, PA. He worked as a Chemical Engineer, enjoyed hunting, and was a member of the Tuesday Morning Coffee Club, the Friday Night Neighborhood Pizza Club, as well as the Chisholm Trail Safari Club. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Steckley, and brothers Glenn and John Steckley. Leon is survived by his sons, Robert Steckley and Dr. Richard (Deserae) Steckley; daughters Cheryl Steckley and Pamela (Daniel) Girrens; 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at University Congregational Church (9209 E. 29th St. N., Wichita, Ks 67226) on Wednesday, April 6 at 11:00 AM followed by burial at Resthaven Gardens of Memory at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to University Congregational Church.
