The family moved to a farm north of Conway Springs, Kansas in 1951 where they made their home. Les graduated from Conway Springs High School in 1966.
Les grew up on the farm working with his hands. He loved fixing cars and motorcycles, and working with wood.
As an adult, Les worked as a stage hand, running spotlights at Centrury II, the Kansas Colloseum and Henry Leavitt Arena.
He is survived by his sister Patty (Bill) Bennett, nephews Marc (Tamara) Bennett and Jeff (Denise) Bennett, 5 great nieces and 1 great nephew as well as several cousins he spent countless hours with as a kid.
