She worked as a nurse was actively involved in homeless outreach, Meals on Wheels, and volunteering at Trust Women among other things.
She is preceded in death by her father John Stares, her late husbands' Bill Easley and Herb Thornell.
She is survived by her Mother; Cecil Stares, Daughter; Angela Russell, Son; Gary Korhonen Jr., Brothers; Mike Stares and John (Jack) Stares Jr., Sisters; Nancy Stares and Diana Lamothe and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation with the family at Resthaven Mortuary 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209 on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 12:00 PM with a Celebration of Life immediately following at 1:00 pm inside our chapel.
