

Linda Kay McGrath Ingalls, 79, passed away on January 9, 2022. She was born in Hinsdale, Illinois on February 12, 1942, to William Edward (Mac) McGrath and Catherine Irene (Irene)(Zimmerman) McGrath. She grew up in Riverside, Illinois. She graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School in 1960 and graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Anthropology and a minor in Spanish.
Linda enjoyed reading the newspaper, learning about pioneer history, researching her family genealogy, and dancing to 50’s sock hop music. She will be remembered for her delicious Hello Dolly cookies.
Her family wishes to thank the caring and devoted staff at Chisholm Place Memory Care in Wichita, Kansas for their special care.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Michelle Holloway (Craig) of Wichita, KS; son Brian Gill (Julie) of Goodyear, AZ; grandchildren Sarah Holloway of Tempe, AZ, William Holloway of Wichita, KS, and Marisa Gill of Goodyear, AZ; sister Laurie McGrath Barton of Glen Ellyn, IL; and two nephews, Jeff Barton of Lisle, IL and Scott Barton (Mary Kay Halston) of Evanston, IL.
A private graveside service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial contribution be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1820 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67214.
