Linda June Mendenhall, 77, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on July 1, 2025, at her home. She was born November 25, 1947, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, the daughter of Shellie (Herschel) and Hazel May (Wood) McCall.
Linda was the youngest of four children, and was a graduate from Cedar Vale High School, Cedar Vale, KS. After completing her studies, she worked at Southwestern Bell until her retirement. After retiring, she drove school buses for the Maize school district.
Linda married the love of her life, Lonny Lee Mendenhall, where they were a great couple and enjoyed life together for 39 years. Linda had many hobbies; as well as being an accomplished quilter and shared many of her projects with family and friends. Linda was a fun, loving and adventurous soul, and after marrying Lonny, she shared his passion for motorcycles. Lonny and Linda took several long motorcycle trips and enjoyed being members of several motorcycle groups which she continued after Lonny's death. She also was an active member of several quilting groups.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Lonny Lee Mendenhall; her parents, Shellie and Hazel McCall; brother, James D. McCall; and sister, MaryJane Sweaney.
She is survived by: her sister, Carol Bennett of Spring Hill, Kansas; along with a host of nieces and nephews in addition to many extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM ~ 11:00 AM on Monday, July 14, 2025; Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution has been established with Linda's nephew's scholarship foundation: Tracy Sweaney Memorial Scholarship - Cedar Vale Trap Club, and may be left in care of the mortuary.
