Linda Ann Smith

April 7, 1946April 5, 2021

Linda Ann Smith (Colvin) of Wichita, KS, died April 5, 2021. She passed peacefully with family by her side. She was born on April 7, 1946 to Willie Edgar Colvin and Lois Dean Britt (who preceded her in death) at Lincoln Hospital, Ruston, LA. She married Harold Leslie Smith (who preceded her in death) on August 31, 1963 in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, KS. They survived 57 years of marriage with good and bad times.

She is a retired employee of Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. She loved the spring time and loved gardening. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren (even though they drove her nuts sometimes). She is like a daisy, bloomed in Spring, beauty in her simplicity, magic in her touch, sunshine in her smile, love in everything she did to make our lives worthwhile. Her everlasting bloom will never fade, for we are the keepers of her memory garden.

Linda is survived by her daughter Susan K. Walters (Smith) (William E. Simon) of Walton, KS; son Timothy B. Smith of Wichita, KS; sisters Joyce Donnette (Colvin, Porter, Dunning) of Independence, MO, Sondra (Colvin, Hartt) of Monroe, LA and brother Edgar Terry Colvin of Pine Bluff, AR; grandchildren Rebecca S. Walters (Esteban Gomez) of Newton, KS, Amy R. Walters of Newton, KS, Cody D. Walters (Sara Dunham), of Wichita, KS, Paula A. Smith of Wichita, KS and Spencer B. Smith, of Wichita, KS; great-grandchildren Michael, Brianna, Michelle, Leah, Mallory, Bradley, Kyran, Gabby, Brody, Rylan, Carly and Ari, and a very special niece, Teri L. Anderson (Porter).

Preceded in death by her sister Ramona Kathryn (Colvin Greenlee), Mt. Ida, AR; Brothers Willie Fredrick Colvin, Dubach, LA and William Leander Colvin, Overland Park, KS.

She was my playmate when we were small children. She was my dear friend as well as my sister. She was my go to person when l needed to talk or cry or just have someone to understand.. She was a kind and gentle person with such a sweet soul. She was not perfect as none of us are but she was very dearly loved and will be missed . Especially by her little old sister. RIP Ann you've earned it.
