84, retired detective, passed away on January 8, 2018. Lloyd was a man of faith, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He retired from the WPD after he dedicated his life to serve and protect the community. Lloyd was hard working, loved to fish, camp, hunt, enjoyed painting and crafts and could always be found with a cup of coffee in his hand. He was preceded by wife, Carol L. Simmons; and parents, Samuel and Edna Simmons. He is survived by sons, Curtis and Wade Simmons, Bob and Rod Dewees; daughters, Cammie Dillard, Sonya Simmons and Jackie Smith; grandchildren, Christopher Thomas, Cristy Boydsun, Jeff Johnson, Jennifer Dewees, Stephanie Dewees, Katie Dewees, Danielle Dewees, Mike Dewees, Patricia Thomas, Meagon Burns, Scott Smith and Monica Jackson; great-grandchildren, Cadence and Braizlee Jo Simmons, Aubree, Adreanna, and Amerra Ford, Autumn Robinson, Kimberly VanZant, Zachary Martin, Alice, Charolette, Nathan and Mason Leonardt, Donovan and Kaitlynn McKaig, Jonathan and Olivia Farris. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Resthaven Mortuary.
