In Lonna's words...
I decided to write my own obituary as it is my story to tell. My name is Lonna Larkey. I was born in Wichita on September 30th 1965 to Lawrence and Nancy Hull. I also was blessed with another mother, Barbara Hull, as I lost my mom at 5 years old. I lost my dad in 2013. God was and is good to me and I was very blessed. I married my childhood sweetheart, Todd Larkey, on July 4th, 1988, and he made me a very happy woman. He gave me two handsome, Intelligent, and loving sons that I am proud of, and that I love- Todd Larkey Jr and Tyler Larkey. I have two daughters in law that have made me very proud- Nicole Larkey (Todd Jr), and Stephanie Edwards (Tyler). I was blessed, also, with a grandson, Ryan Larkey, which is the apple of my eye- I know he will go on to do great things with his life. I love him very much.
I did many things in my life and enjoyed working very much. I was a licensed cosmetologist since 1985 in the state of Kansas. I held many Kansas Certificates including CNA, Activity Director, Operator (for Assisted Living), and Social worker. I had the privilege to work for the Maloney’s on and off for 30 years in oils and fuels. I was employed by Red Carpet Quik Mart and Car Wash owned by Hugh Moxley for about 10 years. I worked in TV for 5 years for KSAS, and then KCTU TV for Ron Nutt. I was blessed with a wonderful resume full of great employers.
I had many friends over the years, some stuck by me and helped me through tough times. My husband and my dad were my very best friends- I could always count on them. Roxann Stevens was one of best friends, and like my dad and Todd, she saved my life. She was always there for me when she was really needed. I love her very much. Holly Newman was another friend that I could rely on and means the world to me and I love her too. Frank Woodman Jr was so special to me that I am not really sure how to express my feelings for him. Thank you Frank, for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and understanding. Sheila Bush, I love you Sissy. You and I have been best friends since we were kids. Don and Cheryl Edwards, no one could take better care of my Ryan. Thank you is not enough. I have no words, and I love you both.
Message from Her husband Todd:
Lonna never got the chance to finish this obituary. However, the many of you who knew her, showed her kindness in her darkest hours. I thank you for your understanding, and for your loving hearts. She was my best friend since high school. So many years together, if I could just have a few more. I know she is happy now in the loving arms of Jesus Christ.
Mama, your pain has ended, and your eternity with God has begun. I will miss you my love. I cannot conceive of a world without you. Daddy will be with you soon mama, and you can teach me how to fly.
All my love
Your husband
Todd Nolan Larkey Sr.
