Louis E. Highfill, 92, born June 23, 1925, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in Wichita. He retired as Chief Clerk, Wichita Terminal Association, and Auditor, Wichita Union Station, with 44 years service. He was a licensed building contractor for 20 years. He served as Staff Sergeant 2nd Armored Division US Army. He was a charter member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Bennett R. and Irene (Miller) Highfill; siblings, Wilda Mae Crissup Long, Jack A. Highfill, Reva Williams-Fithian and Bob R. Highfill. Louis is survived by wife of 65 years, Donna J. (Maxwell) Highfill; children, Virgie H. Moore, Bennett R. Highfill, and Jannett K. Highfill; grandchildren, Andrew D. Moore and wife, Jessi Jordon, Rebecca C. and husband, Bradley J. Klaassen; great-grandchildren, Andrew D. Moore Jr., Lance J. and Lisa D. Klaassen. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Metropolitan Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 525 W. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67203.
