Luanna Marie Kernes

Kernes, Luanna Marie, 70, of Wichita, KS unexpectedly passed away on February 22, 2013. Luanna (Lou) was born October 13, 1942 in Winfield, KS to Leroy and Marie Barnhart. Lou will be greatly missed; she will forever live in our hearts. She was an amazing, caring, giving, spunky, thoughtful, devoted, generous, outspoken lady. Not only was she the very best mom anyone could have; she was also our best friend! A forever youthful Gaga to 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, an amazing aunt/great-aunt to several nieces and nephews and dedicated to her 4 younger sisters. Lou never met a stranger. She was a loyal employee of Derby Wal-Mart at the time of her death. Lou is survived by her 4 children, Mike Hall, Chris (Suzanne) Zimmerman of Yukon, OK, Shelli Dusing and Jody (John) Czarniecki of Wichita, KS; sisters, Linda (Larry) McCaslin, Donna Lumbert and Crickett (Scott) Eads all of Winfield, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert E. Kernes and her sister, Nancy Thomas. Visitation will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 27 with family present 6-8 p.m. A service celebrating Lou’s life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 28, both at Resthaven Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kansas Humane Society.
