

Hawley, Lula Mae, 84 of Wichita, KS passed away peacefully on Tues. Sept. 2, 2014 at Andover Court Assisted Living, Andover, KS. Lula was born on Nov. 2, 1929 in Bluff City, KS the daughter of Newton and Edna Grandstaff. Lula and Edgar Hawley were united in marriage on Oct. 2, 1948 in Anthony, KS. Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2003.Lula retired from the South-central District of the Disciples of Christ Church in Kansas as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of University Christian which is now Woodridge Christian Church, in Wichita. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and volunteered with the Assistance League of Wichita. She was an devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Lula was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Marvin Grandstaff, sister, Gladys Lorene Morris and 3 infant siblings. Survivors include her children, Doug (Sherlynn) Hawley, Patty (Tommy Swope) Sprague, Gary (Jean) Hawley, grandchildren, Jennifer (Angel) Hawley, Andrea (Josh) Adlesperger, Sarah (Derick) Highbarger, Josh (Brittany Frakes) Hawley, Scott Sprague, Krystle (Jason) Boatwright, Erika (Fiancé Steven Cooper) Hawley, Amy Hawley and 10 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm with family present on Fri. Sept. 5, 2014 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Funeral services will be 10am on Sat. Sept. 6, 2014 at Woodridge Christian Church, 12111 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Memorials are to the Woodridge Christian Church and Andover Court Assisted Living, 721 W. 21st, Andover, KS 67002.
