Lynn Anson Hoyt Jr., 86, passed away on December 20, 2016 at Via Christi Hospital in Wichita Kansas after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 19, 1930 in Wichita, and resided there his entire life. Lynn graduated from Wichita High School North in 1948 and attended Wichita State University. He was a real estate broker, and owned and operated Real Estate Center for over 50 years.
Lynn married June Marler on November 20, 1948; they recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Together, they had five children. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, James Lynn Hoyt, MD, and is survived by his wife June, his brothers Harold Hoyt (Shirley) of Los Gatos, California and William Hoyt (Janet) of Green River, Wyoming, his sister Frances Truman (Don) of Crown Point, Indiana, his son Paul Hoyt (Sherry) of Santa Clara, California, and three daughters: Linda Strother and Nancy Spicher (Randy) of Missouri City, Texas, and Diane Bucy (Dan) of Wichita. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren (with two on the way!)
Lynn was an enterprising man of many talents and careers. In addition to being a well-respected real estate professional, he worked on the railroad, at Boeing aircraft as an electronics technician, repaired two-way radios, installed wiring in residential and commercial buildings, ran a milk delivery route, sold junk automobiles, was a reserve police officer for over 20 years, and sold insurance. He probably also did many other things that no one knew about!
He was one of the most positive and friendly people in the world, and never complained about anything, except perhaps when one of his kids left “the barn door” open in the middle of winter. Whenever you asked him how he was, no matter what was going on in his life, he always responded with a hearty “Perfect!” And he was.
Now, Mr. Perfect has left the building, and he will be sorely missed.
Memorial services will be held at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209, at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 23rd. Visitation will be the night before, between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 22nd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice, 313 S. Market St. Wichita, KS 67202.
