Maxine was born into a small family where she was the youngest child by several years, and this was during the early years of the Great Depression. Consequently, her parents were very busy tending to the realities of providing for the family. Maxine also worked hard tending to the large family garden, carrying water by hand to all the plants. After her chores were done, Maxine found companionship with the animals her family owned. Her love and appreciation for animals stayed with her her entire life. Maxine also loved books and learning. She said that going to college was a wonderful experience for her because of all the things she was learning. This passion for reading and learning stayed with her all her life. She and her husband both loved words and they loved doing the daily crossword puzzles in the newspaper.
Maxine and her husband greatly enjoyed traveling, and they took many exciting trips together. She developed a love of painting some of the amazing sights she saw on the journeys. She was very good at art, and also learned calligraphy. She loved taking pictures of her family as well as landscapes. Photography became one of her several hobbies that gave her many hours of satisfaction for many years. She learned how to sew in high school, acquired an amazing sewing machine, and sewed beautiful items of clothing for herself and her family.
Maxine was much loved by her family and they will dearly miss her. Maxine was a believer in Christ, and her faith served her well during the hard times and the good times. She lived a full life and was grateful for all the blessings she enjoyed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Paul J. Foster.
