

Richmond, Marilyn Anne, 79, passed away, Tuesday, March 10th, 2015. She was born in Independence, KS on October 7, 1935, the oldest of three children, to Olin and Ruth McConnell. She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons. She attended East High School and Wichita University. After raising two sons, she graduated from Saint Mary of the Plains College with a degree in Nursing and then served 16 years as a Registered Nurse and Case Manager for St. Joseph Hospital. Marilyn was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She had an inquiring mind and was a Christian woman who loved her church, serving as Elder, Diaconate and chairperson of numerous committees and groups. She touched many lives with her friendship and service She is survived by her husband, Dale, who she was married to for 57 years: her two sons, Todd (Julie) of Grapevine, TX and Chris (Emma) of Wichita: four grandchildren, Shaun, Jonny, Nick and Caitlyn: sister Myrna Look of Paris, TX and brother John (Jacquie) McConnell of Dallas, TX. A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held at Hillside Christian Church 8330 E. Douglas on Saturday, March 14th, 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hillside Christian Church.
