Marlene R. Hecht

August 15, 1950February 18, 2021

Marlene R. (Mecklenburg) Hecht, 70, passed away on February 18, 2021. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas, to William Mecklenburg and Frankie Ann (Robinson) Mecklenburg.

Marlene loved life, and loved people. She had a big heart and was very gracious. She also loved animals, and they truly loved her back. If she could have saved every dog in the world she would have. She always joked about one day having a bunch of land so she could have LOTS of rescue dogs! Her grandkids meant everything to her. Not one day went by that she didn't think about them or ask about them. She was an amazingly loving mother and wife.

She is preceded in death by her parents and several fur-kids that she was blessed by over the years.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Hecht; son, Michael (Jordan) Hecht; daughter, Kristen Hecht; grandchildren, Maddox Hecht and Harley Hecht; and fur-children and fur-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Resthaven Mortuary. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at Resthaven Mortuary on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

I worked with Marlene when we were at American Motors. After their doors shut we kind of went out separate ways, but we kept in contact through Christmas Cards every year, until a few years ago when Facebook came into being. We’ve kept the conversations coming and going since then. I just had a communication from her with a picture of the new dog she and Dan saved and he’s so cute! We both have an affinity for dogs. She loved her kids, grandkids, her new found freedom of retirement, her puppy dogs, and Dan! I miss her already as I know each of you do. Love and condolences to each of you.
