Martha Rose Danek

Martha passed away Friday, January 19, 2018. Although she was 103, her passing was unexpected for her family and friends. Martha was an amazing women, attending to her own affairs until the end. Born in Olpe, KS. January 7, 1915, she is preceded in death by her parents and nine of her ten siblings. Martha moved to Wichita, KS briefly as a teenager and was a graduate of Wichita High School East in 1933. Following a job offer, she moved to Dallas, TX. There she met Frank Babb. They were married until his death in 1952. Remaining in Dallas, Martha later married L.A. Danek. Their union lasted until his death in 1982. After spending more than 50 years in Dallas, she returned to Wichita in 1994 to be closer to her remaining family. Martha is survived by a sister, Gertrude Edens; several doting nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. She enjoyed world travel and did so frequently, often with her sister Gertrude. She was a remarkable lady. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 6:00 PM with rosary to follow, at 7:00 PM at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, 201 S. Hydraulic Wichita, KS. 67211. Funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, 3205 E. Grand St. Wichita, KS. 67218.
