

Martin “Marty” Thomas Fisher, age 76, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on April 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Martin was born on June 20, 1949, in Wichita, Kansas, to Richard Paul Fisher and Luvina Rose (Smith) Fisher. Known to many as Marty, he was truly one of a kind—an outgoing soul who never met a stranger and would do anything to help someone in need.
He attended St. Patrick Grade School and Kapaun High School, both in Wichita, before earning his Bachelor's degree from Kansas Newman College in Wichita.
On October 3, 1970, Marty married the love of his life, Roberta “Bobbie” Jean Bellesine in Wichita, beginning a devoted marriage that remained the cornerstone of his life.
Martin proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1973, achieving the rank of Petty Officer. He served with the Navy Sea Bea (Construction Battalion) and was stationed in Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, and Vietnam, an experience he carried with pride throughout his life.
A skilled craftsman and hardworking professional, Marty was employed with Fisher Upholstery, Fabric Bender, Town & Country, and later Beechcraft and Cessna in Wichita. He was also involved with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
Faith was important to Marty, and he was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wichita.
Marty lived life enthusiastically and generously. He was deeply involved in Scouting, dedicating forty‑eight years of volunteer service to Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, a legacy of mentorship that impacted countless young lives. He also took part in memorable adventures, including biking across Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Becky (Loren) Lauderback.
Marty is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta "Bobbie" Fisher; his siblings, Regina (Dave), Ruthann (Tony), Bonnie, Rick (Karen), Tim (Carol), Chris (Shannon), Phil, and Teresa (Mike); his children, Josh (Erlita), Ben (Jenny), Jake (Katie), and Jerry; his grandchildren, Madison (Michael), Hanna (Derek), Sophia (Johnny), Auden “Ace,” Max, Siera, and Etta; great‑grandchildren, Scarlett, Walker, Eden and Monroe; as well as numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins who also held a special place in his heart.
Those who knew Martin Fisher will remember him for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering willingness to serve others. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, the family he adored, and the example he set every day.
A Rosary Service will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2801 South Seneca, Wichita, Kansas 67217, on April 24, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2801 South Seneca, Wichita, Kansas 67217, on April 25, 2026, at 1:30 pm.
Committal - With Navy Funeral Honors will take place following the church service, at Lakeview Cemetery, Garden of Everlasting Life, 12100 E. 13th Street N., Wichita, Kansas 67206, on April 25, 2026.
In honor of his lifelong commitment to Scouting, memorial donations may be made to the Quivira Council of Scouting America, 3247 N. Oliver Avenue, Wichita, Kansas 67220.
