Martin Helms

Helms, Martin Febus Jetmore, Jr. “Bill”, 66, of Wichita, KS passed away Wed. May 18, 2016 in Wichita. Martin was born on Aug. 9, 1949 in Hazen, AR the son of Martin, Sr. and Pearl (Crouch) Helms. Bill and Brenda Helms were united in marriage on Sept. 24, 1994 in Wichita, KS. Together they celebrated 22 years of marriage. Bill served in the United States Marines and Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Bill worked as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Wichita for 20 years. Bill was a proud member of the American Legion Riders Post 256. He loved playing his guitar and napping with Einstein his dog. He was a proud father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Chad, sister, Mary Francis. Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda helms of Wichita, children, Martin (Emily) Helms, III of Galveston, TX, Robin Halvey, Nicola (Todd) Schroeder, Shannon (Tim) Ferrell, Simon Halvey, all of Wichita, Andrew (Chasy) Helms, Irvine, CA, brother, Mike (Linda) Helms, sister, Sherry (Mike) Passmore of AR, 17 grandchildren, Savannah, Dylan, Alexis, Anthony, Ayden, Alister, Kaden, Halle, Tiana, Chelsee, Logan, Estella, London, Krew, Roen, Jossilyn and Scout. Funeral services will be 10am on Tues. May 24, 2016 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. Memorials can be made to the American Legion Post 256, 4301 W. Pawnee, Wichita.
